My friend and I were seeking a quiet getaway – we found it at Ted and Lori’s resort.
The surroundings were pleasant and serene; it was easy to get to; Rice Lake had some fun shopping opportunities.
We enjoyed the beautiful setting, especially the birds; eagles, sandhill cranes, geese, ducks, and a wide variety of song birds.
The cottage was clean, and had what we needed to enjoy our stay; it was a perfect fit for us.
Many lovely touches provided a homey, restful environment. Inside furnishings – beds, chairs, couch, were all very comfortable, and the patio chairs were as well. The patio provided a lovely place to relax and take in nature.
Thank you for providing a restful, relaxing vista – we are already discussing a re-visit, perhaps in the fall.

The living room walls are made with real birch logs from our land! This cozy bungalow features a beautiful fieldstone fireplace to keep you toasty on those cold winter nights. The view is fantastic! It has lots of windows lakeside to enjoy the beautiful Birch trees and of course all the wildlife on Tuscobia Lake. Two french doors lead out to the spacious flagstone patio area from the great room and the master bedroom. A great space to just sit and relax.
You can enjoy eating/grilling on the lakeside patio, or relaxing by the campfire area fully stocked with wood that overlooks the waterfowl marsh in the foreground, and Tuscobia Lake in the background. You won’t want to miss watching the Bald Eagles flying in and out of their nest on Eagle Island, which is about 500 feet across the lake from the campfire area. Eagle Island is home to a large bald eagle’s nest that has been there for years! Oh, what a beautiful “Birch” view!!

We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay in the area. The unit had everything we needed, the decor was great, comfortable furniture, the woodwork and stonework were beautiful, and everything was organized. The outdoor patio had ample comfortable seating, and the lake views with the birch trees were beautiful. We counted 15 species of birds in one afternoon! We walked a trail around the property. It’s a special place. We highly recommend it, and we will be back!
